Here's my contribution to Bad Axe Studios upcoming sketch card set called Bombshells. This is my art for one of the base cards.

first up is the quick digital rough sketch (photoshop)...had the basic idea in my head of a 60's type theme mixed with modern looking military costumes.

I then let it sit for a couple weeks and when I came back to it I refined a bit more...(still in photoshop)

Next step was something I don't always do. Some rough colors in photoshop. Since I knew I wanted to color it with markers, thought I'd put down some colors just to give myself a guide.

Then printed out the rough and using a lightbox transferred the pencils to 11x17 bristol (using col-erase pencils.)

The final colors were done with Copic Markers and just a touch of photoshop cleaning up, here and there.

I've had this sketch sitting on my hard drive for a little while, so I decided to finish it up today.

Started my usual way, digital sketch in photoshop...

which was then printed out and using my lightbox, traced onto 9x12 bristol paper with col-erase pencils...

Then colored with copic markers....

This was a Heroes Con 2011 commission that I drew at the show but took home to paint (and subsequently mailed out). Red and Blue Col-erase pencils on 11x15 watercolor paper.

Thought I'd post some of the process for making this Cowgirl pinup.

Started with just a couple random sketches with a blue col-erase pencil on copy paper.

Scanned the sketches and drew up a cleaner version in photoshop.

Flipped the art and printed it out and traced onto 9x12 bristol paper with red (and blue) col-erase pencils.

Then added Copic Markers.

Decided to just render the skin tones (and hair) on this one. It's a look I've wanted to try for a while, but would usually get so wrapped up in the coloring that I'd be halfway finished before remembering :).

Since it's San Diego Comic Con time, I saw that Zenescope's Swimsuit issue is being offered for sale. So I figure I should be able to post this. I was asked to do a pinup with their version of Tinkerbelle.

Thought I'd post a few images from a recent commission. I just had a headshot of a photo to work with for reference, but it was a lot of fun. The final painting was 18"x24", I haven't painted anything that large in a long time.
Started out the usual way, did a digital sketch in photoshop (did a few different poses but this was the one we settled on):

Next up was the pencils. Since I knew going in we wanted to keep the color range in the pinks and purples, I did the pencils in purple col-erase pencil.

Then onto the painting. I had planned on taking some in progress photos and promptly forgot :(.
The when I had the painting finished, took a quick photo with my camera. I had also planned on taking a better picture...but realized that after I had mailed out the art. doh!

Final painting was acrylic paint on illustration board.
